income tax in a foreign land

I don't mind filling out income tax - as long as there's some easy way to figure out where or what things are. Let's just say that the australian version of doing income tax is not as easy to interpret as they think... especially for non-residents. let alone trying to get a straight answer that you can trust from any Australian about how and what to do about your taxes. some say i didn't need to claim, some say mark doesn't need to claim... but the lady on the otherside of the phone in the tax bureau said we both needed to lodge a form (yes, lodging means sending in a report but not necessarily paying it right then).

fine. if i get deported because i screwed up my income tax, i say good riddance.

ps. - i now have two meetings per week with my supervisor and he says he doesn't MICRO MANAGE?!?!? maybe it's because i don't have a dick.

  • it gets better - by year two you'll spend only 20 hours on filing taxes (honestly - personal experiance)

but living in a forein country really do suck! I'm convinced - going home!

    See you in the middle-east?:)
