boxing day at the beach

rather than partake in the stocktake sale (boxing day sale) - people started lining up to go in at 4 am. mark and i joined lavinia and ian at the beach in point lonsdale for a picnic. everyone picnics here. it was our first outting at the beach and we both slathered on a fair amount of sunscreen (minimum 30+). the sun here is way more intense than in toronto. i had my first open water swim since wasaga beach olympic triathlon and i had conveniently forgotten how much of a pain it is to get into your wetsuit. i had better start practising getting out of it before racing!!
i forgot how SALTY ocean water can be. argh... not tasty at all. i miss fresh water!!! and don't forget about watching out for rocks that near the surface let alone sighting! ah well, just something else to work on.
