New Year's in Sydney
new year's in sydney is definitely one thing to do. the fireworks are amazing (and dad, they actually lasted 15 mins apparently). mark has posted the fireworks movie on his blog so just take a look at his.
we stayed with my aunt and uncle and hung out with my cousin michelle (budding pool shark) who i hadn't seen in about 10 years.
mark and i headed into the city for the fireworks around 11 am. by noon we were in queue to see the sydney aquarium along with a million other kids in strollers, a bit out of strollers and fully in high gear. we didn't mind the kids so much as the parents who just stopped wherever they were and rammed their huge stollers around into your path as if you had no where to go. oh well. one day i will not have one of those.
mark and i walked in and out of air-con because sydney was HOT! past 35 degrees!there was no way i could handle drinking in this weather.. it was enough to try staying hydrated! it was amazing to see the number of people who were camped out with wine, beer, lunch, dinner on a small square metre of street pavement. just to get a great view of the fireworks!
it is definitely a must to do... but not sure if i'll do it again.
