11.2k bloody big swim
well, my team finished... first in the 100+ category (they add your ages up)!!! in about 2.40 h
logistics for this bloody big swim is ridiculous but in the end it was worth it. our paddler rach was great - she tried really hard to keep us on course, or should i say me. i really need to learn how to sight but oh well. (side comment from mark: apparently i like going perpendicular to the course, but only twice) i think on each turn in the water (we each were in the water 5x8 mins), i felt better and better in the SALT water. hard to imagine. damn john silke can swim (although he ruined my fluor pink latex cap!!!)- oldest of us all and really showed us up. many thanks to our skipper daryl who volunteered to provide and drive the boat for us during the race in between all the swimmers!
i would post pictures of it all but as always, mark and i packed the digital with the battery empty. it is the norm for us... we really should know better and now we have to get the lcd fixed. carboshotz raspberry drink is actually good! it comes in a concentrate liquid form so all you need is water (note: this is not an ad for carboshotz)
no sharks or jellies were seen or hurt by me. (although i did have my eyes closed in the water when i started to freak)

Thank God. Sharks have to be my biggest wild animal phobia, but jellies aren't far behind them.
