six weeks ago, i had plenty of power on the bike - it is now four weeks later... after going to port mac, getting sick, getting my bike position rearranged, i have less power on the bike, aching shoulders and numb hands... again.
it is more than annoying. i am ready to trash my cannondale bike as well.
well, okay. to be honest, it is not only that today but the annoyance of melbourne traffic. riding through traffic on a bike has never been my forte. in fact, i would rather slow down more and watch because friggin melbournian drivers are really, really BAD. to add to that, i am still not use to hook right turns by cars. they make me very nervous because i don't trust car drivers at all. so this cyclist comes by me and yells at me for something that i can't even hear.
so i go up to at the stop light and say, i'm sorry, i didn't hear what you said. he informed me i didn't signal and pushed him out of traffic AND that i should be more conscious of my surroundings. well, considering that there were cars doing hook turns, i was going straight through the intersection and i didn't take up the whole lane... exactly where was he? granted i didn't look back to see if there was someone zooming up beside me as i was in the lane where the hook turns were. BUT what the hell was he doing zooming past me in my line? if he was watching the traffic he should have anticipated that i was going straight (as i was already when he yelled at me). SO... i have no idea why these people bug me but i should have said something back as his wife obviously didn't have an issue with my line. i feel sorry for the next bugger who is incorrect with what he says to me because i will blow his ear off (note, i think it will be a male because majority here are self-centred and oblvious to what they might have done wrong - male company that i hang out with excluded but note most of them actually aren't australian). there's my rant for the day. it's even made me forget about bonking after the ride.
i find it not so hard to fanthom why people who pent up anger go ballistic when there are so many annoying people in the world. honestly.

I didn't know that you needed to signal if you were going straight through an intersection. ::rolls eyes:: What an ass!

road 'behaviour' is clearly universal.
